On November 21, the Los Angeles Music Center announced the creation of the L.A. Dance Project, a collective founded by choreographer and former New York City Ballet principal dancer Benjamin Millepied and in residence at the Los Angeles Music Center, beginning in  2012. The L.A. Dance Project will premiere at Disney Hall in Los Angeles Sept. 22 - 23, 2012 with a collaborative program to include William Forsythe's Quintett, Merce Cunningham's rarely performed Winterbranch, and a new work by Millepied featuring music by Nico Muhly. Following the premiere, the company is available for touring through August 2013.
