In the 2010-11 season Maestro Armiliato conducted Adriana Lecouvreur in concert at the Deutsche Oper Berlin with Angela Gheorghiu in the title role and Jonas Kaufmann as Maurizio. The remainder of the season saw him leading performances at the most prestigious international opera houses -- the Metropolitan Opera (Il Trovatore and Tosca), the Bayerische Staatsoper (La Boheme and Barbiere di Siviglia), Opernhaus Zürich (Madama Butterfly) and Opéra Bastille (Otello). Gala concerts brought him to New York as well as to the Philharmonie in Munich and the Musikverein in Vienna conducting La Traviata in concert with the Staatsorchester München.
In the 2011-2012 season, Maestro Armiliato conducts a new production of Anna Bolena at the Metropolitan Opera starring Anna Netrebko in the title role. He returns to the house in spring for Aida, Ernani and Madama Butterfly. Fall and winter will see him amongst others at the Vienna State Opera (Elisir d’Amore and L’Italiana in Algeri) and at the Gran Teatre de Liceu in Barcelona (Linda di Chamounix) before he finishes the season with performances at the Hamburg State Opera (Manon Lescaut), Opéra de Paris (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) and the Munich Opera Festival (Tosca).
Marco Armiliato together with Renée Fleming and Jonas Kaufmann is a recipient of the 2010 Grammy Award with the CD “Verismo Arias” with the Orchestra Sinfonica and Coro di Milano Giuseppe Verdi.
