A truly international artist, Steven Harrison has appeared at Teatro Colón Buenos Aires, Prague National Theater, Staatstheater Kassel, Oper Leipzig, Florida Grand Opera, Baltimore Opera, and at the Macerata Festival in Italy. The list of eminent conductors with whom the artist has worked includes Antonio Pappano, John Fiore, Mikhail Pletnev, Andreas Stöhr, Eugene Kohn, Richard Armstrong, Alberto Veronesi, Johannes Debus and Jonathan Darlington.
He appeared in North Carolina Opera’s inaugural season in 2012-11 as Cavaradossi Tosca, and continued in the title role Werther at the Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava, Czech Republic. He travelled to Opera North to make his UK debut as Florestan Fidelio, and made his debut as Il Duca Rigoletto at Opera Queensland, his first appearance in Australia. He joined Taiwan’s National Symphony Orchestra for Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, and returned to Poland following last year’s success as Samson, recreating the title role of Chopin in a rarely performed opera by Giacomo Orefice, recorded on CD for commercial release. He returned to New York City Opera as Pinkerton Madama Butterfly.

Other roles in Steven Harrison’s extensive repertoire include many contemporary titles, as well as Hagenbach La Wally, the title role in Gounod’s Faust, Don José Carmen, Pollione Norma, Riccardo Un Ballo in Maschera, Radames Aida, Sam Polk Susannah, Narraboth Salome, Male Chorus The Rape of Lucretia, Steuermann The Flying Dutchman, Edgardo Lucia di Lammermoor, Faust Boito’s Mefistofele, Canio Pagliacci, title role Andrea Chenier, Walther/ Old Woman in Judith Weir’s The Story of Blond Eckbert, Dick Johnson La Fanciulla del West, Luigi Il Tabarro and Judge Danforth The Crucible.
A frequent guest on the concert platform, he has appeared with L’Accademia di Santa Cecilia Rome, and with Moscow’s Russian National Orchestra. He sang Janacek’s Glagolitic Mass with Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria at Maggio Musicale in Florence. At Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall in New York he was the tenor soloist in the Verdi’s Requiem, and with Eve Queler and the Opera Orchestra of New York at Carnegie Hall he sang Verdi’s Ernani, and returned as Arrigo La Battaglia di Legnano.
