Highlights this season include Handels’ ‘Messiah’ with the NY Philharmonic and Alan Gilbert, Szymanowski’s ‘Lied der Nacht’ with Pierre Boulez and the Vienna Philharmonic (also recorded), the title role in ‘La Clemenza di Tito’ at the Semperoper Dresden, Mendelssohn’s ‘Lobgesang’ with the Leipzig Gewandhaus under Riccardo Chailly and Dvorak’s ‘Stabat Mater’ with Christoph Eschenbach and the National Symphony Washington.
His wide-ranging discography includes Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the David Zinman, Mozart’s Requiem with Christian Thielemann, Bach cantatas with Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Martinu’s ‘Giulietta’ under the late Sir Charles Mackkeras and Tippett’s ‘A Child of Our Time’ with Sir Colin Davis and the LSO.
