Maestro Yuri Temirkanov and violinist Julia Fischer were met with thunderous applause following their 15th February, concert with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic at New York City’s Carnegie Hall.

The New York Times' James R. Oestreich praises Ms Fischer’s performance of Prokfiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2, Op. 63 in G minor, writing that she, “compelled the attention of listeners – and the orchestra musicians, to judge from their applause – through her sheer musicality”.  He continues that she, “played…serving up a rich, elegant sound,” with a finale that, “was strong and assured there as well, the orchestra adding its own acidic colorations to the skewed harmonies at times.”
