Mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught returns to the Vienna State Opera to sing the title role in a new production of Rossini’s La Cenerentola, conducted by Jesús López-Cobos. The production, by Sven-Eric Bechtolf, marks the opera’s first return to the stage of the Vienna State Opera after almost thirty years.

Tara made her debut in Vienna earlier this season when she took over the role of Rosina in Il Barbiere die Siviglia to much critical acclaim.

The premiere, on 26th January, will be broadcast on Austrian radio ORF.

Following her performances of Cenerentola, Tara takes on another title role at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich where she’ll sing Hänsel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel at the end of March.
