Mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught stars in the Bavarian State Opera’s new production of Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito. George Loomis, writing in The New York Times says, “Tara Erraught sings the castrato role of Sesto with a beautifully formed mezzo-soprano voice; she, too, has a big aria, ‘Parto, parto,’ with instrumental obbligato – this time basset-clarinet – and it is the high point of Act 1”.
The production, directed for the stage by Jan Bosse and conducted by the opera company’s new general music director Kirill Petrenko, runs through Sunday, 23rd February, at the National Theatre.
