On Sunday 31st July, Nicky Spence and his enlisted team of opera stars and musicians rode into London Coliseum to end their marathon eight day cycle from Glasgow to London. The 605 mile ride took off in Glasgow on July 24 with the group – whose core cyclists were Nicky Spence, Timothy Connor, Peter Aisher and Simon Lepper – taking part in a series of events at various musical landmarks along the way.

SongCycle has so far raised £17,000 of it’s £25,000 target in aid of Help Musicians UK, the leading UK charity for musicians. Soprano Anna Devin, who won two of HMUK’s awards during her student days at Guildhall, gave a free lieder recital in Oxford before joining the team for the final leg of the tour into London.

Tributes and words of encouragement came pouring in for Nicky and his team, including soprano superstar Renée Fleming and HMUK ambassador Lesley Garrett, before Nicky led the team of cyclists into the London Coliseum for the special ENO event.
