Mezzo-soprano Alix Le Saux made her debut in the role of Rosina in “Jeunes Talents” cast of Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées. The “excellent” young singer has been applauded by critics, most notably for the quality of her high notes and for the character she brought to the role, and has been described as “among the most promising performers of the youth cast” (Musicologie).

“…how can you resist the stage presence of Alix Le Saux, in addition to her rich and well-projected tone? This Rosina knows what she wants and won’t let people stand in her way!” (Telerama)

“Alix Le Saux lends her warm, rounded mezzo-soprano voice to a mischievous Rosina. Neither the high range nor the extreme effort required by the virtuosic score are obstacles to a voice.” (Forum Opera)

“Alix Le Saux is very good… she has progressed hugely with the quality of her high notes and always stays in character – that of a pretty, cheeky know-it-all, and the singing itself is well-projected.” (franceinfo)

“Pablo Ruiz and Alix Le Saux, in the roles of the aging tutor and the mischievous young woman, are a delicious duo… As for the mezzo-soprano, whose vocality is both agile as a bird but strong as concrete, she is a Rosina who possesses all the right characteristics for the role.” (Toutelaculture.com)
