Rising star conductor Ana María Patiño-Osorio will make her Salzburg debut on Sunday, 15 October conducting the Orquesta Iberacademy Medellín. The concert at the Mozarteum will feature Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga’s Overture from Los esclavos felices; Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez (with guitarist Javier Contreras), Mozart’s Ballet Music from Idomeneo KV 367, and Jorge Andrés Albeláez’s “Escenas Bambuqueras for Orchestra”, commissioned by the Iberacademy.

Patiño-Osorio, praised for her impressive “strength and tranquillity of being” (Le Temps), has held the role of Assistant Conductor of Orchestre de la Suisse Romande since the 2022/23 season. She was selected from nearly 300 candidates to work directly with Jonathan Nott and an elite roster of guest conductors. In January 2023, she successfully stepped in at short notice to conduct the OSR with soloists violinist Daniel Lozakovich and pianist Mikhail Pletnev.

Additional recent and forthcoming highlights include conducting the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, Philharmonic of Bogota, the National Symphony of Uruguay, the Meininger Staatstheather, the École de Musique de Genève Orchestre, EAFIT Symphony Orchestra, Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra of Colombia.
