This Saturday (20 August), soprano Angela Gheorghiu and conductor Jonathan Brandani will feature in a Gala Concert dedicated to Ukraine at the Royal Danish Theatre, Copenhagen. The concert, featuring both Danish and international performing artists, fights for the reconstruction of Ukraine’s cultural life against the destruction of the war. All profits will go towards the reconstruction of the war-damaged cultural heritage in Ukraine. “Angela says, My dear friends, I am honoured and happy to lend my voice and my support to a Gala Concert dedicated to Ukraine. As a Romanian, I understand the fight of our neighbors, I admire their relentless courage and determination facing the horror of an aggression we have also witnessed in our recent history. I hope that music will help alleviate the pain and lift the spirits and I hope that peace will rule again soon. Slava Ukraini!”
Jonathan says, “In moments of darkness and horror, Art is a source of light and hope, because it reminds us that a better world, where people come together in harmony to celebrate Beauty, is indeed possible. I am honored to give support to this Gala, and I hope that peace will soon shine in Ukraine.”
