Acclaimed stage direction and set and costume design duo Barbe & Doucet unveil their hotly anticipated new production of Rossini’s one-act comic farce, Il signor Bruchino, at Pesaro’s Rossini Opera Festival. Italy’s Pu24 writes, “the real big news is the new, very convincing production by Barbe & Doucet.”

The production, with libretto by Giuseppe Foppa, stars Giorgio Caoduro (Gaudenzio), Marina Monzó (Sofia), Pietro Spagnoli (Bruschino padre), Manuel Amati (Bruschino figlio), Jack Swanson (Florville), Enrico Iviglia (Commissario), Gianluca Margheri (Filberto) and Chiara Tirotta (Marianna). Michele Spotti conducts theFilarmonica Gioachino Rossini in this coproduction with the Royal Opera House Muscat and Teatro Comunale di Bologna from 10 – 18 August at Teatro Rossini.
