IMG Artists vocalists John Brancy and Kang Wang are in tonight’s finals of the Belvedere Singing Competition in Moscow.

One of the world’s largest competitions for young opera soloists, The International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition takes place annually with the final rounds hosted at the most renowned opera houses around the world.

Baritone John Brancy is “a vibrant, resonant presence” (The New York Times) on the international opera, concert and recital stages. He is a recent 1st prize winner of both the Jensen Foundation and Marilyn Horne Song competitions, and recipient of the Sullivan Foundation Grand Prize and career grant, 1st prize of the Classical Singer Magazine Competition and the Gold Award for the Voice at the Young Arts Foundation competition.

Tenor Kang Wang, who recently reached the final of the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition, is the son of professional opera singers originally from Harbin, China and gained his international Artist Diploma in Opera at Royal Northern College of Music, completing his Master of Music Studies at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University in Australia. He is currently in his second year of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. Kang was 2nd in the Dallas Opera Guild 2016 Vocal Competition and won the People’s Choice Award. He also won the People’s Choice Award in the Dame Joan Sutherland National Vocal Award and won the Clonter Opera Prize in the UK in 2014.
