Constantin Trinks will make his UK debut conducting Kasper Holten’s inventive and visually stunning production of Don Giovanni. It stars Gerald Finley in his role debut as Leporello. The production runs from 5 – 18 July, and will be livestreamed on 16 July. The cast also features Erwin Schrott as Don Giovanni, Adela Zaharia as Donna Anna, Frédéric Antoun as Don Ottavio, Nicole Chevalier as Donna Elvira, and Adam Palka as The Commendatore.

Trinks opened his 2020/21 season with a production of Tristan und Isolde for Hannover Staatsoper. Sadly his Glyndebourne Festival debut this summer with Die Zauberflöte was a casualty of COVID-19. La Traviata for Oper Köln, Prokofiev’s The Fiery Angel for Theater an der Wien, a tour of China with ORF (Austrian Radio), a Wagner extravaganza with Royal Swedish Opera, and appearances in Salzburg with Belgian National Orchestra were also Covid casualties. Next season, Constantin Trinks returns to Oper Köln, Theater an der Wien, Hannover Staatsoper, Oslo Opera, and the Royal Swedish Opera.
