Following an acclaimed success conducting the world premiere of Hilda Paredes’ Harriet, which he has now conducted for the Muziekgebouw (Amsterdam), the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Festival Cervantino in Mexico, and for November Music in Den Bosch, Manoj Kamps makes his US debut in January in New York’s innovative Prototype Festival.
The annual festival of visionary opera-theatre and music-theatre works by pioneering contemporary artists from New York City and around the world includes the world premiere of Andrea Clearfield’s opera Mila the Sorcerer on 12 and 13 January 2019. With libretto for Mila by Jean-Claude van Itallie and Lois Walden, the production is directed by Kevin Newbury and features The Knights.
Other highlights of 2019 include engagements with the ASKO/Schoenberg Ensemble, Brussels Philharmonic and Bruckner Haus Linz Symphony Orchestra.
