Following a hugely successful debut with Rundfunk Sinfonie Orchester Berlin in January 2018, Andrey Boreyko returns to the orchestra on 16th May for a performance of Shostakovich Symphony No. 15 in the Berlin Philharmonie. He will also return to the orchestra in 2019/20. He shares the podium with Krzysztof Penderecki, who is conducting his Violin Concerto No. 2 in the first half of the concert, with Anne-Sophie Mutter as soloist.
In the past few months, Andrey Boreyko has enjoyed major successes with San Francisco Symphony, Filharmonica della Scala, Houston Symphony and National Arts Centre Ottawa. On May 29th, he conducts Prague Symphony Orchestra at the Prague Spring Festival in Stravinsky’s arrangement of Tchaikovsky Sleeping Beauty Suite, Stravinsky Divertimento from the ballet Le Baiser de la fée and Jan Novák’s Dido, cantata after Virgil.
