Pianist/composer Conrad Tao has signed to IMG Artists for worldwide booking and general management. He will be represented by his new General Manager Grant Chaput from the company’s New York headquarters and by Hannover-based Artist Manager Natalja Slobodyreva in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Grant said: “Conrad has been an important part of the North American classical music scene for years and we are truly excited to be working with him again here. Given the breadth of his artistic output, we look forward to expanding on the great work done by our IMGA colleagues in London.”
Since making his professional debut as a pianist at age 11, Conrad Tao has grown into a an acclaimed, award-winning artist with his own unique voice and perspective on music. No longer a mere wunderkind, he celebrated his 19th birthday with both the release of his major label debut album Voyages (Warner Classics) and the launch of his UNPLAY festival: three nights of new music performances that he conceived, curated and hosted.
Already well-known in the US, Conrad has recently been making inroads into Europe with several recent and forthcoming high-profile debuts including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and Swedish Radio Symphony.
As a composer, Conrad’s work continues to be highly sought after, and he has numerous commissions under way, including the June world premiere of his new work Alice with the Dallas Symphony under Jaap van Zweden.
Conrad continues to push boundaries on all fronts, from launching his second Warner Classics album Pictures in a crypt in Harlem to duetting with acclaimed jazz drummer Tyshawn Sorey at the Park Avenue Armory to giving an online masterclass to a thousand viewers via tech platform Noteflight. IMG Artists looks forward to continuing the journey with him.
