The celebrated, young Lirico-spinto soprano Elena Stikhina makes her hotly anticipated Royal Opera House debut as Tosca on 8 December 2021. She performs with Bryan Hymel (Mario Cavaradossi) and Alexey Markov (Baron Scarpia) in the Jonathan Kent production conducted by Oksana Lyniv. Audiences will also be able to experience the intense production live in cinemas around the world on 15 December at 19:15 GMT and 19 January 2022.
Following spectacular debuts at the Paris and Metropolitan Operas and the Salzburg Festival, Elena Stikhina is making waves in the opera world.
She has earned wild acclaim and legions of admirers through her triumphs at Bayerische Staatsoper, the Berlin Staatsoper, Dresden Semperoper, Baden Baden Festspielhaus, Boston Lyric Opera; and in concert with the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Munich Philharmonic and at the Philharmonie Paris and Mariinsky Theatre Saint Petersburg.
2021/22 highlights returns to Zurich Opera (Salome) and The Metropolitan Opera (Tosca), Verdi’s Requiem with the Berliner Philharmoniker, The Dead City at the Novaya Opera Theatre and Eugene Onegin at Teatro San Carlo.
