Tenor Ilker Arcayürek opened the 25th Jubilee Edition of Schubertíada de Vilabertran in Catalonia.

Jorge de Persia of La Vanguardia praises the young tenor’s performance of a program of Schubert songs, attesting him “a very attractive timbre, with brightness, and a clear diction” able to “capture great beauty and sadness of the Schubert pieces.”

He continues describing Ilker Arcayürek as a singer with “a substantial voice, especially solid in the lower range and with a bright and firm top“ and with “well supported high notes and fine vibrato; the latter which he uses with much savviness and care, giving evidence to the fact that one of his talents is vocal smoothness, combined with the intensity of his vocal expression.”

Further performances of the program in the coming season will see Ilker Arcayürek return to Wigmore Hall as well as making his debuts at Barcelona’s L’Auditori and Birmingham’s Town Hall amongst others.
