IMG Artists is delighted to announce that it has signed two thrilling singers for General Management: the rising star baritone Benjamin Appl and “mesmerising” (Musical America) mezzo-soprano Jenny Carlstedt. Both are represented by Senior Vice President of Vocal Artist Management Stefania Almansi from the company’s London office.

Hailed by Gramophone as “the current front-runner in the new generation of Lieder singers,” German baritone Benjamin Appl is earning legions of admirers for his performances on both the operatic and concert stages throughout Europe and the US including London’s Wigmore Hall and Barbican Centre, New York’s Carnegie Hall, Philharmonie de Paris, Wiener Konzerthaus, Kölner Philharmonie, Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle, Munich’s Prinzregententheater, Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin and Antwerp’s de Singel. An exclusive Sony Classical recording artist, Benjamin was part of the 2014/16 class of BBC New Generation Artists and both a Wigmore Hall Emerging Artist and ECHO Rising Star for the 2015/16 season.

After having trained as a chorister at the renowned Regensburger Domspatzen, Benjamin continued his studies at Munich’s Hochschule für Musik und Theater and London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He had the great fortune to be mentored by the great Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.
