IMG Artists is pleased to announce that it has signed conductor Alexander Sladkovsky for General Management. He will be represented by Artist Manager Natalja Slobodyreva from the IMG Artists GmbH headquarters in Hannover.
Praised for, “his vivacious and genuine, thoughtful and deep music making…and infectious energy” (Bel Canto), Sladkovsky is at the core of the thrilling new generation of Russian conductors.
As Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra in Kazan, a position he has held since 2010, Maestro Sladkovsky has raised the international profile of the orchestra, leading Musical Life Magazine to dub the partnership the “Kazan Miracle”. In addition to their musical accomplishments, Alexander and the TNSO’s commitment to social and charitable causes has twice earned them the Philanthropist of the Year award from the President of the Republic of Tatarstan. Through The Republic’s Heritage project, the orchestra supports both talented music and conservatory students and local schools through a series of educational projects and outreach. The orchestra’s Musical Healing programme is dedicated to helping severely ill and disabled children through a multi-faceted series of cultural events.
In addition to his work with the TNSO, highlights of his 2015/16 season include collaborations with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, Sinfonia Varsovia, State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia “Svetlanov Orchestra” and the Russian National Orchestra.
Alexander said, “I am delighted to work with IMG Artists, who are known for their rich experience and global network. I look forward to sharing my personal expression of music making to a broader audience, and know I am in good hands with the company.”
Natalja said, “When I met Alexander Sladkovsky for the first time, I was impressed by his enormous charisma and vivacious style of conducting. He is a serious musician who not only pays attention to the details, revealing layers of the score and structure, but also brings a tremendous colour to the orchestral writing. This combination is not easily found and sets Alexander apart. His thoughtful and deep music making is astonishing and I look forward to working with him as we further develop his career around the world.”
