IMG Artists is delighted to announce that it has signed pianist Yeol Eum Son for general management. Yeol Eum will be represented by Artist Manager Teodora Masi from the company’s London office.

A double Second Prize winner at the 2011 Tchaikovsky and the 2009 Van Cliburn international piano competitions, Yeol Eum Son’s graceful interpretations, crystalline touch, versatile and thrilling performances have captured the attention of audiences around the world

A favourite amongst international orchestras and distinguished conductors, she enjoys close and successful collaborations with maestros Valery Gergiev and Dimitrij Kitajenko, with whom she has appeared multiple times with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra; Rotterdam, Czech and Zagreb philharmonic orchestras; and the Tonkünstler-Orchesters Niederösterreich. She has also performed with the New York, Israel, Tokyo, Japan and NDR Radio philharmonic orchestras; Seattle, NHK, Yomiuri Nippon and St Petersburg Academic symphonies; NDR and KBS symphony orchestras; Academy of St Martin in the Fields; and Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern.

Highlights of her current and forthcoming seasons include appearances with with the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln; Konzerthausorchester Berlin; Bergen and Dresden philharmonics under the baton of Dmitrij Kitajenko; her Paris debut with Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and Mikko Franck; a European tour with KBS Symphony Orchestra under Yoel Levi; Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra; and the closing concert of the International Mariinsky Far East Festival in Vladivostok under Valery Gergiev. Her forthcoming recital and chamber concerts include debuts at the Fribourg International Piano Series in Switzerland, with the San Francisco Chamber Music Society and at the Philipps Collection in Washington, DC.

Korean-born Yeol Eum Son studies with Arie Vardi at Hannover Germany’s Hochschule für Musik Theater und Medien. She holds a degree from the Korea National University of Arts, where she studied with Dae Jin Kim; and previously studied with Cheng-Zong Yin, one of China’s most prominent pianists. In 2016, she released the album Modern Times, a critically acclaimed collection of music by early 20th century composers, on Universal Music Korea. This is her third Universal release, following two earlier recording of Chopin’s etudes and nocturnes respectively.
