IMG Artists is delighted to welcome conductor Konstantin Chudovsky to its roster for General Management. Chudovsky, who is currently the Principal Conductor of Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile, will be represented by Artist Manager Natalja Slobodyreva from the company’s Hannover office.

Named by the Financial Times as one of “25 Russians to Watch”, Konstantin is earning acclaim as an opera, ballet and symphony conductor throughout Europe and The Americas. NZZ writes that he, “has genuine, full-bodied musicianship. With small, sensitive gestures (without a baton), he sets the music in motion, imbuing it with emotion, blending colours exquisitely.”

In addition to his concerts with Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile, recent highlights include his debut with the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra (Svetlanov Orchestra); conducting the Vienna Chamber Orchestra at the in Rossini’s La cambiale di matrimonio (for the opening of Theater an der Wien’s Youth Programme) and La Cenerentola at the Kammeroper; Dvóřak’sRusalka and Prokofiev’s Cinderella with Opéra de Lyon; Il Trovatore with Opéra de Limoges and Reims; Verdi’s Rigoletto and Puccini’s Madama Butterfly with the Ekaterinburg State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre; and successful collaborations with the Orchestra of the Estonian National Opera, Moscow City Symphony (Russian Philharmonic), Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion (Orchestra of Tel-Aviv Opera) and Jerusalem Chamber Orchestra. Following his debut with the company of the Helikon Opera in 2006, he was appointed as First Guest Conductor from 2007 – 2014.

Konstantin studied piano and conducting at the Gnesin Sate Musical College in his native Russia with Professor V. Bogdanovskaya. He continued his conducting studies at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory with Maestros Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Boris Kulikov and Vladimir Ponkin, graduating with honours.

Amongst his honours and awards are Bulgaria’s 2014 “Crystal Lyra”; 2011’s Union of the Critics of Chile commendation for Outstanding Performance (Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov); and 2010 Russia’s National Youth “Triumph” Award in the Art and Literature category.

Konstantin, who is fluent in Russian, English, German, Italian, Spanish and French, divides his time between Santiago de Chile and Vienna with his wife, soprano Elizabeta Chudovskaya, and their two children.
