IMG Artists is delighted to welcome soprano Adela Zaharia to its roster for General Management. The 2017 Operalia Competition winner, who has been hailed as a “true revelation” (Euro News), will be managed by Jack Mastroianni and Stepan Atamian from the company’s New York office.
Adela said, “I am extremely honoured to join IMG Artists’s roster and am excited to develop my career together with Jack Mastroianni and Stepan Atamian. With them I am looking forward to the challenges and rewards ahead.”
Mastroianni and Atamian added, “From her early performances at the Komische Oper to this year’s huge success at Operalia, it is clear that Adela Zaharia is one of today’s most exciting emerging vocal talents as well as a supreme interpreter of the bel canto repertoire. We are enthusiastic and feel privileged to work with such an artist.”
Upcoming season highlights include a return to the Deutsche Oper am Rhein ensemble where her roles include the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor, Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Gilda in Rigoletto, and both Le Feu and La Princesse in Suzanne Andrade’s new production of L’enfant et les Sortilèges. She makes her role and house debut as Elisabetta in concert performances of Roberto Devereux at Oper Frankfurt and reprises Pamina at the Komische Oper. Additional concert appearances include her debut at the George Enescu Festival, where she sings the mad scene from Iain Bell’s A Harlot’s Progress, a gala concert with Placido Domingo in Guadalajara with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Jalisco, and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with her native Arad State Philharmonic.
