IMG Artists is delighted to welcome soprano Julie Adams and mezzo-soprano Zanda Švēde to our roster for General Management. Ms Adams and Ms Švēde will be represented by Artist Manager Adam Cavagnaro from the New York office.

Praised for her “movie-star looks” and “chocolatey mezzo-soprano” (The Independent Insider), Zanda Švēde is currently in her final year as an Adler Fellow at San Francisco Opera. Highlights of her 2016/17 season include return to the stage of San Francisco Opera as Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Maddalena in Rigoletto, the maid in The Makropulos Case, and Handmaiden/The Flower in the world premiere of Bright Sheng’sDream of the Red Chamber. Additional engagements include her debut at Palm Beach Opera as Suzuki and covering Olga in Eugene Onegin at Lyric Opera of Chicago.

Winner of the 2014 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, 2015 George London Award, 2015 Elizabeth Connell prize, and recipient of the 2015 Sara Tucker Study Grant, Julie Adams possesses a voice that is, “rich, full and slightly earthy in an expressive way,” (The New York Times). 2016/17 will see Ms Adams’ return to San Francisco Opera as Mimì in La bohème, conducted by Carlo Montanaro; Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly; Kristina in The Makropulos Case; and covering Princess Jia in Sheng’s Dream of the Red Chamber.

Adam Cavagnaro says, “These fantastic artists are a wonderful addition to our roster of outstanding international artists. I’m thrilled to begin working with these uniquely talented artists who have already proven to be highly valued in the musical community. I look forward to their continued contributions.”
