Jamie Martín will conduct the London Philharmonic Orchestra on its December tour. He will lead the orchestra in two programmes: Brahms’ Violin Concerto, with Arabella Steinbacher, and Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony in Munich on 10 December; and Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 2, Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 2 with Fazil Say, and Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony on 11 – 13 December in Essen, Cologne and Athens respectively. Martín replaces Sir Roger Norrington who has withdrawn due to ill health.

Jamie Martín recently earned international acclaim for his sold-out London Symphony Orchestra debut in Madrid and London with Seen and Heard’s Alan Sanders writing, “With his superb, precise conducting technique, and an electric response from the LSO at its virtuosic best, this was a memorable performance.” Recently announced as Music Director Designate of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, he begins his tenure in September 2019.  In 2013, he became Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of Gävle Symphony Orchestra. He is also Chief Conductor of Orquestra de Cadaqués and Artistic Director of the Santander International Festival.

Recent and forthcoming debuts include subscription performances with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Colorado Symphony, Sydney Symphony, Melbourne Symphony and Gulbenkian orchestras.
