“One of the most important voices of our time” (Marc Minkowski), young mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa has released her recital debut recording Oh, Boy!. The acclaimed young singer turns her considerable talents to 16 “trouser role” arias from operas by Mozart, Chabrier, Gluck, Gounod, Hahn, Massenet, Meyerbeer, Offenbach and Thomas in a programme that offers and appealing mix of popular selections and tantalising rarities, including Thomas’ Psyché and Hahn’s Mozart. Listeners will also enjoy a sneak preview of Marianne’s performance in the title role of Offenbach’s Fantasio in her 2017 debut at Paris’ newly renovated Opéra Comique with “Voyez dans la nuit brune” (Ballade à la lune). The album, which was recorded in Salzburg with the Mozarteum Orchestra under Maestro Marc Minkowski, is available in stores and online now on Erato.
