Matilda: Film with Live Orchestra premiered with the Houston Symphony on June 9 at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, awing and captivating over 6,000 audience members of all ages! The film’s stunning score was brought to life by its creator, the Academy Award-nominated composer/conductor David Newman, and narrated by actor, director and producer Danny DeVito.

Based on Roald Dahl’s award-winning book and directed by Danny DeVito, Matilda is the story of a little girl who loves books and wants to go to school. Belittled by mean parents and terrorized by a disparaging school headmistress, Matilda uses her secret telekinetic gift to stand up for herself, her friends, and the lovely Ms. Honey. This humorous and touching coming-of-age story will have audience members young and old humming in their seats!
