Swiss bass-baritone Milan Siljanov reached the final of the ARD Music Competition 2018, finishing second place and winning the Jury and Audience prizes at the prestigious competition held last night in Munich.

Milan has just become a full member of the ensemble at the Bayerische Staatsoper, and will sing Nachtwachter in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, and Montano in Otello at the opening of the season.  During 2018/19 he will also have roles in La Bohème (Schaunard), Le Nozze di Figaro (Antonio), From the House of the Dead, Les vêpres siciliennes, Hänsel und Gretel, Die Zauberflöte and Salome, and he will cover the title role in Krenek’s Karl V.
