IMG Artists is delighted to announce that Pietari Inkinen has extended his contract as Music Director of the Prague Symphony Orchestra for a further two years encompassing the 18/19 and 19/20 seasons. Building on the success of the partnership since Inkinen took up the position 2015, they will continue their ambitious programme of touring, including multi-city visits to Japan and the UK, as well as developing the position of the orchestra within the Czech Republic. The announcement came while presenting the orchestra’s 18/19 season, which for Inkinen will include performances of Mahler’s First Symphony, Bruckner’s Sixth and Strauss’s Alpine Symphony, as well as collaborations with Vadim Repin, Lise Lindstrom and Fazil Say.
Speaking about the contract extension, Inkinen said, “Now in the third year of my time with the Prague Symphony Orchestra (FOK) I remain consistently inspired by the passion and commitment of the musicians here in Prague; their distinctive sound and spirit brings me great inspiration each time I step on the podium. I am pleased to be able to continue my work in this very special city in the coming seasons.”
