Dubbed “extraordinary” by the San Francisco Chronicle, The Swingles received numerous accolades for their recent performances of Luciano Berio’s Sinfonia for Eight Voices and Orchestra with the San Francisco Symphony. Their stellar performance comes as no surprise: Luciano Berio originally wrote this symphony in 1968 with The Swingles in mind. Their August performances received the following review:

“Singing a cappella in otherworldly tones, the eight-member vocal ensemble (four men, four women) began it. . . . Throughout, the voices were essential, chanting, singing, purring, and commenting in phrases that never failed to intrigue and amuse . . . The Swingles melded with the orchestra with superb precision. The Mercury News
