Yan Pascal Tortelier, the new Chief Conductor of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, opens the 2016/17 season tonight at Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall in what will be the ISO’s first ever live streamed concert.

The program includes the first performance of Yan Pascal Tortelier’s newly constructed symphonic suite from Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloe, which includes not only Suites 1 and 2 but also additional material from the complete ballet. The program also features Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3, performed by Russian soloist Nikolai Lugansky.

The season opening concert will be live streamed from 7.30pm Icelandic time on www.sinfonia.is
