Yeol Eum Son has announced a Mozart Sonatas recital tour in South Korea, in celebration of her latest album Mozart: Complete Piano Sonatas that was released in March on Naïve. A full list of tour dates can be found below.

The album earned early acclaim from the international classical press. Wolf-Ulrich Ebersberger from Nürnberger Nachrichten wrote,  “One still likes to listen to her, the Korean pianist Yeol Eum Son , because she can set her own accents – vital and stormy in the early works, then more and more differentiated as Mozart matures: tongue-in-cheek naive, all of a sudden in the minor key, like many small operas , staged in front of our ears. Very elegant all and engaging!”

Rob Cowan writes on his blog, “Son’s style combines boldness and intelligence with fluidity, a sense of musical logic, simplicity of approach where appropriate and a level of interpretative freedom that harks back to the days of Artur Schnabel who, like her, never allowed Mozart to sound hidebound by formality…”
