Biography

Alexander Kravets has established himself as one of the most versatile operatic performers of his generation, specialising in the “Spieltenor” repertoire throughout the world.

Alexander’s recent and future engagements include his debut for the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden as the Policeman in a new production of The Nose directed by Barrie Kosky; Prince Nilski The Gambler for Opéra de Monte Carlo; Monostatos Die Zauberflöte for Teatro Massimo, Palermo and The Astrologer The Golden Cockerel in new productions for Opera Royal de La Monnaie and Teatro Real, Madrid.

Alexander has been acclaimed in the title role of The Nose by Shostakovich at the Aix en Provence Festival and Opéra de Lyon; he has also appeared as The Policeman The Nose at Staatsoper Berlin, Opéra de Lausanne, Dutch National Opera, and at the Metropolitan Opera, New York.

Alexander has also enjoyed great critical acclaim as the ‘Drunken Man’ Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk at La Scala, Milan, Teatro Real, Madrid, Teatro di San Carlo Napoli, Dutch National Opera, Grand Théâtre de Genève and Opéra National de Paris.
