Andrés Orozco-Estrada Makes His New York Philharmonic Debut

This week, Andrés Orozco-Estrada returns to the USA to make his New York Philharmonic debut, conducting the orchestra in four concerts at the David Geffen Hall on the 06-09 December. The programme features Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Overture-Fantasy, Hadyn’s Cello Concerto No. 1 with cellist Edgar Moreau, Bartók’s The Miraculous Mandarin Suite, and Enescu’s Romanian Rhapsody Op. 11, No. 1. The 2023/24 season welcomed Orozco-Estrada’s new appointment as Prinicipal Conductor of Rai Orchestra. He is also Principal Conductor of Orquesta Sinfónica Freixenet de la Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, and will be Chief Conductor of Gurzenich Orchestra from the 2025/26 season. 2023/24 season highlights include debuts and re-invitations with the Vienna Philharmonic, Orchestre de Paris, Swedish Radio, Rotterdam Philharmonic, hr-Sinfonieorchester, Houston Symphony Orchestra, and Radio Sinfonieorchester Berlin, among others.
