Andrey Boreyko Returns to Aarhus Symphony, Slovak Philharmonic, and Conducts Season-Closing Concerts with Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra

14 May 2024

Following the success of his performances last season – conducting three concerts in their Rachmaninov Festival with repertoire including Symphonic Dances, Andrey Boreyko returns to Aarhus Symphony Orchestra to conduct Shostakovich’s monumental ‘Stanlingrad’ Symphony 8 in a subscription concert on Thursday 16 May at the Musikhuset Aarhus. The evening offers an opportunity for contemplation on war, past and present. The concert begins with a conversation between war veterans who have been invited to share insights and thoughts from their own personal experiences of war.

A popular guest of the orchestra, Boreyko returns to Aarhus Symphony again in 2024/25 to conduct Dvořák’s ‘New World’ Symphony 9 on 01 May 2025.

In high demand as a guest conductor, Boreyko works regularly with orchestras such as London Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Prague Symphony, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg. His upcoming highlights also include Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Antwerp Symphony, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, and the New Japan Philharmonic in Tokyo.

Over the coming weeks, Boreyko returns to Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra for subscription concerts on 23/24 May , before concluding his successful tenure as Artistic & Music Director of Warsaw Philharmonic by conducting Mahler Symphony 9 in their season-closing concerts on 07/08 June.
