The city of Kiel, capital and most populous city in the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein, announced their new General Music Director from 2024/25. The German conductor Gabriel Feltz will take over the position for an initial five years starting in August 2024. He remains General Music Director in Dortmund and Chief Conductor in Belgrade until the summer of 2025. In his first season at the Theater Kiel Gabriel, Feltz will conduct new productions of Rosenkavalier and Traviata, and can be heard in four symphonic programmes with the orchestra.

Gabriel Feltz is starting his musical year of 2024 with a new production of Arrigo Boito’s Mefistofele at the Prague State Opera. The first performance is on the 14 January 2024, followed by a new production of Roman Haubenstock-Ramati’s Amerika at the Zurich Opera which will premiere on the 03 March 2024.
