IMG Artists Welcomes Frédéric Chaslin to its Roster for General Management

7 May 2024

IMG Artists is delighted to welcome French composer, conductor and pianist Frédéric Chaslin to our roster for general management. He will be represented by Artist Manager Mattia Campetti.

Chaslin started out as an organ prodigy, performing a concert at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris at the age of ten. He studied at the Paris Conservatoire, followed by Salzburg Mozarteum, notably with Aldo Ciccolini for piano, Paul von Schilhawsky for German Lied, and Leopold Hager for conducting.

Chaslin has conducted all the world’s major orchestras and opera houses, including Metropolitan Opera, Berlin’s Deutsche Oper, the operas of Munich, Dresden, Leipzig, Paris Opera, Madrid, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Budapest, Venice’s La Fenice and Milan’s La Scala (La Gioconda, Les Contes d’Hoffmann). In the symphonic repertoire, he has conducted all the great French, German, Italian and British orchestras, from the London Symphony to the Vienna Philharmonic, and many others.

Chaslin said, “In the life of a musician, there are several people who are important and indispensable for the realization of a career: the teacher, of course, and then the mentor, who comes when the student is already well trained but needs to make the transition from school to real life. The mentor teaches the student everything that school doesn’t teach. In my case it was Barenboim, Boulez and Giulini. Finally, there is the agent. And that is undoubtedly the most difficult part, the most difficult connection to find. That’s why I’m delighted to have joined IMG Artists. I have always watched the work of its agents in France and around the world and always hoped to be part of their roster one day. I am glad that day has come.”
