IMG Artists Welcomes Soprano Patricia Westley and Tenor Joshua Sanders to its Roster for General Management

IMG Artists is delighted to welcome soprano Patricia Westley and tenor Joshua Sanders to its roster for General Management. They will be represented by Devere Burnett from the New York office.

New Zealand-American soprano Patricia Westley is praised by the San Francisco Chronicle as a “hugely impressive artist” who sings with a “deep velvety tone” and “sparkling vivacity”. Ms. Westley was a New York district winner of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition and a 2023 Gerda Lissner Grant Winner. She has also received awards from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the Performing Arts Scholarship Foundation, the East Bay Opera League, and Franco-American Vocal Academy. She was awarded the esteemed Opera Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma and career grants from both the University of Oklahoma and Carnegie Mellon University.

For the 2023/24 season, Ms. Westley joins the ensemble at Stadttheater Bern to perform in Die Zauberflöte (Pamina), Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Konstanze), Jenůfa (Karolka), and Siegfried (Waldvogel). Most recently, she sang the soprano soloist in Carmina Burana with the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra, the soprano soloist in Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis with Bard College, and soprano 1 in Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang with the Charlotte Symphony. Upcoming engagements include Arabella (Zdenka), Rigoletto (Gilda), Les pêcheurs de perles (Leïla), and Götterdämmerung (Woglinde).

A highly awarded artist, Joshua Sanders was a finalist in the 2023 Belvedere Competition and was awarded a study grant from The Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition in 2021, after being named a national semifinalist in 2020. He was the winner of the prestigious Amber Capital Scholarship from the Opera Foundation in 2017, the Sachi Liebersgesell award from Opera Index in 2019, and the 2017 Bel Canto Vocal Scholarship Competition. He also won second prize in the 2019 Opera at Florham Violetta DuPont Competition and third prize in the 2018 Grand Stage International Song and Lieder Competition. Mr. Sanders holds a Master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Mr. Sanders joins the Lyric Opera of Chicago in the 2023/24 season, covering Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola. He makes debuts with Opera San José in Roméo et Juliette (Roméo) and in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Count Almaviva); and with Nashville Opera in Die Zauberflöte (Tamino).
