This weekend (18 & 19 Nov), Jonathon Heyward returns to the RSNO to conduct the orchestra in a programme of James MacMillan’s Larghetto for Orchestra Scotch Snaps and Beethoven’s Symphony No 7. Pianist Denis Kozhukhin will play Grieg’s Piano Concerto. More information and tickets are available here. Tomorrow’s concert will be streamed online via the RSNO’s website.
Heyward debuted with the RSNO in January, for a recording of Florence Price’s Second Violin Concerto with soloist Rachel Barton Pine. Released on the Cedille label in September, the record reached number five on the Billboard Classical Album Chart. While in Glasgow, Jonathon will work with conducting students at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
