Marcus Bosch, artistic director of the Opernfestspiele Heidenheim, will conduct new productions of Verdi’s Don Carlo and Giovanna d’arco at the Opernfestspiele Heidenheim 2023. Don Carlo with the Stuttarter Philharmoniker in the pit will premiere on the 7th July and Giovanna d’arco with the festival orchestra Cappella Aquileia on the 20th July.
The Opernfestspiele Heidenheim, founded in 1964 and since 2010 under the artistic direction of Marcus Bosch, have become one of the largest and most successful opera festivals. Since 2016, every year one early Verdi opera is presented which is recorded and released on CD/DVD. The festival takes place every summer and contains two opera productions, several concerts and open-air productions at the Hellenstein castle in Heidenheim.
