Marcus Bosch Makes NCPA Debut with Der Fliegende Holländer 10 – 14 April

Marcus Bosch makes his debut at Beijing’s National Centre of the Performing Arts on 10 – 14 April. He will conduct Giancarlo Del Monaco’s production of Wagner’s Der Fliegende Holländer (The Flying Dutchman). The production stars bass-baritones Ólafur Sigurdarson (10, 12, 14 April) and Thomas Gazheli  (11, 13) as Der Holländer, sopranos Diana Lamar (10, 12, 14) and SONG Yuanming (11, 13) as Senta, baritones Dimitry Ulyanov (10, 12, 14) and ZHANG Wenwei (11, 13) as Daland, tenors Tuomas Katajala (10, 12,14) and GUO Zizhao (11, 13) as Eric, mezzo-soprano NIU Shasha as Mary and tenor WANG Chong as Der Steuermann Dalands.

Bosch’s additional spring 2024 highlights includes a Beethoven and Richard Strauss programme with the Qatar Philharmonic on 11 May; the new installment of his multi-year Bruckner Cycle, performing Bruckner’s Symphony No. 2 with the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz on 17 May; Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18, with pianist Fabian Müller; and Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Op. 27 with the Philharmonie Südwestfalen on 24 – 26 May; and Konstantia Gourzi’s Furioso Variationen 21 Op. 80, Dvořák’s Cello Concerto with soloist Jan Vogler, and Richard Strauss’s Don Juan Tondichtung Op. 20 and Till Eulenspiegels lustige Streiche nach alter Schelmenweise – in Rondoform – Op. 28 with Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock on 16 – 18 June.
