A “winner”—that’s how Venezuelan artist Nella feels after recording En Otra Vida, the third album of her career released today with the authenticity and mastery that characterizes her, which is available on all digital platforms.
With the authenticity and creativity that characterize her, she has created a musical gem that serves a triple purpose: to celebrate women, to recreate the songs of her childhood, and to take the audience on a musical journey through some of the best Latin music songs, but with a very personal touch.
“The idea was to go back to the beginning, to songs that inspired me and accompanied me all my life, and to reimagine them as if they were my own. Hence the title, ‘En otra vida.’ I wish that in another life I had written them… or in another life, they would have had this new form,” said the singer.
Putting together the repertoire for En Otra Vida required Nella to revisit the songs she listened to with her parents and grandparents. The result was a reconstruction with her very special and specific musical stamp of iconic songs such as “Víveme” (Laura Pausini), “Con los años que me quedan” (Gloria Estefan), “Alma mía” (Maria Grever), “Me voy” (Julieta Venegas), and “Te espero sentada” (Shakira).
Additionally, she added some of the best female voices of today for unforgettable duets. She sings “Veinte Años” with Yendry, “Como la Cigarra” with Paula Arenas, “Cuando vuelva a tu lado” with Nicole Zignago, “Qué bonito!” with Maye, and “Olas y Arena” with Gale.
The production of En otra vida was led by Spanish producer and musician Ale Acosta. Each song was protected as a treasure and adorned with exquisite sounds and arrangements, enhancing the original composition.
In her own words, “It was a spectacular process for me; I had never been part of the production of my albums in this way. I have already won with this album to find who I am at this moment,” the artist emphasized.
The idea of this album appears as a bridge that will eventually lead to the original compositions on which Nella is currently working.
