oberto González-Monjas Makes Debuts at PyeongChang and Verbier Festivals

Roberto González-Monjas will make his  Korean debut with the PyeongChang Festival Orchestra on the 15 July. In a night commemorating the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, he will play Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat Major with violinist and violist Svetlin Roussev. The programme also features Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 2 in D Major with violinist Daishin Kashimoto, Piano Concerto no. 21 in C Major with pianist Alessio Bax, and Leopold Mozart’s Trumpet Concerto in D with trumpeter Alexandre Baty. On the 16 July, Roberto will conduct the PyeongChang Festival Orchestra in a performance of Rachmaninov’s Symphony No. 2. The programme also features Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” Overture and Khachaturian’s “Masquerade” Suite. More information and tickets are available here.

On the 21 July Roberto will return to Switzerland to make his Verbier Festival conducting debut, with the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra, in a programme featuring Rachmaninov’s Symphony No. 2. The programme also includes Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in A Major with pianist Alexandre Kantorow. More information and tickets are available here.

The debuts follow successful season finale concerts with Musikkollegium Winterthur and Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León in June, and mark the start of a compelling summer festival season, with performances at Salzburg Festival, Gstaad – Menuhin Festival, and Lucerne Festival.
