Roberto González-Monjas Makes Debut with Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse 29 February & 1 March

Following recent appearance at the opening of the Mozartwoche Festival with the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg , conductor and violinist Roberto González-Monjas makes his much-anticipated debut with Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse on 29 February at Halle aux Grains in Toulouse and 1 March at Théâtre Olympe de Gouges, Montauban. Roberto, who dedicates significant attention to Mozart’s music and is Chief Conductor Designate of the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, will conduct and play/direct three works by the composer: Symphony No. 1 in E-flat Major, K. 16; Violin Concerto No. 3 in G Major, K. 216 and Symphony No. 41 in C Major, K. 551 “Jupiter”.

Roberto has earned the admiration of French audiences and critics through his frequent, acclaimed performances as both a conductor and soloist throughout the nation. He regularly appears with the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, conducting both symphonic and opera productions, including a shortly forthcoming production of Puccini’s La bohème from 18 – 28 April this year. Following a successful debut with Orchestre de chambre de Paris in 2023, Roberto returns to Paris in July this year. In past seasons, Roberto has frequently conducted and play/directed Orchestre national d’Île-de-France at the Philharmonie de Paris.

Additional highlights of the 2023/24 season include Bach’s Saint Matthew Passion with the Musikkollegium Winterthur; Respighi’s Roman Trilogy at the Barbican Hall; the world première of Diana Syrse’s “Quetzalcoátl”; a South Korean tour with the Hong Kong Philharmonic; as well as debuts with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
