Biography
Puerto Rican mezzo-soprano Isa Signoret is a second year ensemble member of the Wiener Staatsoper, having recently completed a two year Studio residency. In the 23/24 season at the Wiener Staatsoper, Ms. Signoret will sing Amando in a new production of Le Grand Macabre, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Muriel in Animal Farm, Tisbe in La Cenerentola, and Meg Page in Falstaff.
Recent seasons in Vienna have included Zerlina, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Rosina in a new production of Der Barbier für Kinder, Mercédès, and Meg Page, Minerva in a new production of Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, Lola in Cavalleria rusticana, Amore/Valletto in L’incoronazione di Poppea, Tisbe, Bersi in Andrea Chénier, Blumenmädchen in Parsifal and the Page in Salome.
A graduate of Rice University, Isa Signoret has performed with Wolf Trap Opera, the Aspen Music Festival, and Miami Music Festival. In concert, Ms. Signoret has performed Mozart’s Requiem, as well as presented recitals of Spanish, Cuban, and Argentinian art song with guitar and piano.
