Congratulations to our 2024 GRAMMY® Nominated Artists. The awards will be announced on February 4 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Zakir Hussain, Edgar Meyer Béla Fleck and Rakesh Chaurasia* are nominated for two awards: Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for As We Speak and Best Global Music Performance for Pashto. Edgar Meyer is also nominated for Best Instrumental Composition for “Motion”, on which Hussain, Fleck and Chaurasia appear with Meyer. These bring Mr Meyer’s total nominations to 10, with 5 GRAMMY® wins. Mr Hussain is also nominated in the Best Global Music Album category for his album This Moment with John McLaughlin, Shankar Mahadevan, V.Selvaganesh and Ganesh Rajagopalan. These are the 6th and 7th nominations for Zakir Hussain, who won his GRAMMY® at the 51st Annual GRAMMY® Awards for Best Contemporary World Music Album for Global Drum Project.
Eric Owens is nominated for Best Opera Recording for Blanchard: Champion. This is the third nomination for Mr Owens who won in the same category in 2022 for Gershwin: Porgy and Bess.
Jarrett Ott, Kathryn Henry, and David Portillo all earn their first nominations for the Best Opera Recording nominee Corigliano: The Lord of Cries.
Lawrence Brownlee earns his second nomination for Rising in the Best Classical Solo Voice Album category.
“Music’s biggest night” will be broadcast and streamed worldwide on February 4, 2024.
