IMG Artists Welcomes Izabela Matula to Our Roster for General Management

IMG Artists is delighted to welcome soprano Izabela Matula to its roster for general management.

Ms Matula was born in Poland, where she graduated in voice and acting from the Kraków Academy of Music. She also studied music theory, composition and conducting. After graduating, she continued her vocal training with Neil Semer in New York, and is currently honing her vocal skills under the tutelage of Dariusz Grabowski.

Her extensive stage repertoire includes leading soprano roles in Italian operas such as Aida, Il Trovatore,  La forza del destino, Luisa Miller, Otello, Stiffelio, Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera, Madama Butterfly, Suor Angelica, Tosca, Liu in Turandot and Mimi in Puccini’s La Boheme, the title role of Catalani’s La Wally, as well as Mozart roles such as the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. She also specialises in German and Slavic repertoire, including Wagner’s Lohengrin, Tchaikovsky’s Mazeppa and Eugene Onegin, Janacek’s Katia Kabanova, Smetana’s Dalibor and Weinberger’s Švanda Dudak. Her repertoire also includes parts in operas such as Paul Hindemith’s Cardillac, Henryk Jarecki’s Barbara Radziwiłłówna, Menotti’s Consul, Strauss’s Salome, Britten’s Peter Grimes and Offenbach’s Tales of Hoffmann.

Recent highlights include her debut as Tosca at Innsbruck and the British Grange Park Opera. Her 2023/24 highlights feature a much acclaimed debut as Madama Butterly at the Bayerische Staatsoper under the baton of Daniel Oren, and Medea (Cherubini) at the Grand Opera – National Theatre of Warsaw.
